Very good showing at the Long Island Shootout tournament held at Stony Brook this weekend.
Playing in the Girls High School Division, the team showed that its preseason practice and conditioning were paying off.
Special thanks to our friends from the Massapequa Blast who guest played with us this weekend. Their participation made it possible for us to play and they played very well for us.
In Saturday games, the Hurricanes defeated GU-19 Division Two teams Stony Brook Fusion and Sachem Wildcats by scores of 5-1 and 5-0 respectively.
In the Sunday games, we were less than two minutes from a 1-0 win over GU-19 Division Two Bohemia Blue Devils, when they broke through to tie the game 1-1.
In the final Sunday game, plaing with only one sub, the team put on a gritty defensive effort to pull out a 1-0 win over a fine GU-17 Division One team, the Smithtown Power.
Overall, 3 wins a tie, 12 goals for and 2 against. Nice job by all!
