Great job this weekend in making it to the championship game in the Massapequa Winter College Showcase.
Saturday's wins over Rockville Centre Liberty (2-0) and East Islip Crush (3-0) was followed by Sunday's first game loss to the Fall Division 1 champion HBC Firepower (0-3). Nevertheless, we won the bracket and advanced to the championship game against the Levittown Shamrocks.
A cold rain began falling just before game time and the wind began to blow. Levittown opened the scoring ten minutes in with a beautiful crossing pass that was knocked home after a strong run to goal.
That was it for the scoring. For the rest of the game, the two teams battled each other and the elements. The Lady Hurricanes came close a couple of times but could not score the equalizer.
Congrats to Levittown on the well-deserved 1-0 win.
