Now that the final league standings have been posted, there are some interesting statistics to note.
First, congratulations to the Massapequa Lady Hurricanes (9-0), Massapequa Lil Spirit (8-1) and the Massapequa Goal Diggers (8-0-1) all of whom were division winners this fall. We always thought that this was an exceptionally deep age group, but no one could have predicted three division winners from the same club.
Second- There are roughly 50 GU-10 teams in Nassau and 50 GU-10 teams in Suffolk. The stats below are based on league games only.
Wins-
There were only two undefeated, untied (9-0) teams in Nassau- the Lady Hurricanes and the Valley Stream Trouble.
There were only four undefeated untied (9-0) teams on Long Island- the Lady Hurricanes, the Trouble, the Ronkonkoma Rage and the Smithtown Attack.
Offense-
The Lady Hurricanes and the Plainedge Strikers tied for second in goals scored in Nassau with 35. Valley Stream scored the most.
Defense-
The Lady Hurricanes allowed the fewest goals against in Nassau -2. Tied for second (with 4 goals against) were the Massapequa Lil Spirit and the Massapequa Goal Diggers.
The Lady Hurricanes tied with the Smithtown Attack for the least goals allowed on Long Island (2).
